RISCOSbits asks that you get your London Show Special Reserve orders in now

Sadly, though, they’re not asking everyone for their drinks orders for the day.

It’s now a touch under two weeks (or is it a touch over one and a half?) until this year’s London Show, which takes place on the 25th October at the Harrow District Masonic Centre, and it’s time for another exhibitor announcement – this time from RISCOSbits.

It seems that the team at RISCOSbits will shortly be taking “an impromptu, badly timed and slightly inconvenient holiday, immediately before the show,” which means there won’t be enough time now to take advance orders in the final run up to the event and build the machines requested, for supply on the day.

To make up for this terrible, terrible timing (you’d never catch me taking such an inconveniently timed holiday, oh no, I definitely didn’t go to the Lake District immediately before RISC OS North in March, honestly, trust me guv, would I lie to you?) they’ve provided a list of the machines they’re going to be bringing to London, and offering people to get in touch to reserve the one they plan to buy. That list, copied straight from the email, is:

  • VENOM – premium compact NVMe machine
  • FAST NVMe – another excellent premium NVMe machine in a full Mini ITX case
  • DIY Systems – we have the ONE, TWO, and THREE systems available to reserve
  • Chimera – a multi-headed machine with a special free surprise for the show!
  • PiRO Qube – the smallest NVMe machine possible!
  • eNVy.Me – a modern, lightning blue NVMe system with a unique case
  • FAST FIRE – our speedy SATA machine with multi-disc capabilities. The fastest true multi-disc systems available.

The email also notes that they’ll have “a few late additions to our usual range with bumped up specs” and a range of new things1 that should make a visit to the stand (and therefore the show itself) worthwhile – but these aren’t available to reserve! Well, it’s hard to even consider reserving something when you don’t know what it might be! However, the next sentence in the email was “You’ll have to coast on over for those” – a clue, perhaps? New RISC OS cog-shaped coasters to fit on the bottom of your chairs and other furniture, obviously! (Okay, I may be making an ever so slightly silly suggestion, there 😉 )

If you wish to reserve something, send RISCOSbits an email so they know what to hold for you, with a caveat that any reservations will be made on a first come, first served basis (they can only carry a certain amount of goodies with them, after all), and that should you reserve something you’ll collect it by 1pm on the day.

  1. Andy Marks from RISCOSbits will be the guest speaker at the next ROUGOL meeting, on Monday, 20th October, with a pre-show teaser. More clues to these new things might be revealed then. And I’ll be disappointed if I won’t be able to buy a set of cog-shaped coasters for my coffee table2.
  2. I won’t really. I don’t even have a coffee table.
